Holistic Healing:
Obsidian is associated with grounding and protection, and firestone with self-discovery and revealing what is hidden.

Metaphysical Traditions:
Obsidian is traditionally regarded as a shielding stone, and firestone as a stone of inner fire and truth.

Cool Facts:
Obsidian is volcanic glass that cooled too fast to form crystals.
Firestone is a sodalite-rich syenite. Chemically it is the same stone as Yooperlite, but that name is trademarked and only applies to stones found in Michigan.
The glow under UV light comes from the sodalite in the stone. In daylight it looks like an ordinary grey pebble.
