Metaphysical Traditions:
Traditionally regarded as a soothing stone, kept close during study or rest to encourage a peaceful atmosphere.

Cool Facts:
Calcite is calcium carbonate, the same mineral that makes up limestone, marble and seashells.
A drop of weak acid makes calcite fizz, which is how geologists tell it apart from look-alike stones.
Blue calcite is soft enough to scratch with a steel knife, so it is best kept away from harder crystals.
