    About Blue Lace Agate  –

Blue lace agate is a pale blue chalcedony with delicate white and lavender-blue bands that ripple like lace or gentle waves. It is one of the softest-looking stones in the crystal world, loved for its tranquil colour.

Like other agates it forms in cavities and veins in volcanic rock, where silica-rich fluids deposit fine layers of chalcedony over time.

    Cool Facts  –

Blue lace agate's delicate bands formed as layer after layer of chalcedony lined a cavity in volcanic rock.

Almost all of it comes from a single area in Namibia, near the Kalahari desert.

It was first found there in the 1960s by George Swanson, who called it "the gem of ecology".

The classic Namibian source, the Ysterputs mine, closed in the 2010s, so good older material is increasingly sought after.
