The Zeolite (Extended) family! If you know me, you know I LOVE a zeolite crystal and all their derivatives. They are a stunning and diverse group and really energetic. Used mainly within energy healing and reiki circles, this range of crystals is a must if you practise holistic energy healing. Heres a wee blog on the main types and why they "Rock"!
The name “zeolite” is derived from the Greek word for “boiling stones.” This stone is known to froth when heated at high enough temperatures. Zeolites are commonly used as Reiki stones. They are believed to aid one’s energies and healing capabilities.
Cool Facts: Two other very common, everyday uses of zeolites are in odor control and pet litter; in both, the porous crystalline structure of the zeolites helps by trapping unwanted liquids and odor molecules. This simple idea, so effective in our homes, has much more important uses outside them: zeolites have proved extremely effective at removing radioactive particles from nuclear waste and cleaning up soils contaminated with toxic heavy metals. (Following the Fukushima nuclear disaster in Japan in 2011, rice farmers spread zeolites on their fields in an attempt to trap any lingering radioactive contaminants.)

HEULANDITE GREEN
STONE OF the HEART CENTRE
Healing: Powerful stone of the heart. Heals physical and emotional heart centre. This stone facilitates healing of the physical heart and the strengthening of the electromagnetic field of the body. Excellent for those of you who are experiencing grief, shock or emotional trauma. Promotes a joyful, blissful state of consciousness. It fosters compassion and love. This stone helps you in releasing resentment.
STILBITE
STONE OF THE SENSES
Healing: Used to treat tumors of the brain and neurological disorders. Heals disorders of the skin. Can heighten senses and is a great detoxifier. This crystals is especially good for letting go and acceptance, using love and creative energy
SCOLECITE
Healing: Powerful rebalancer, Balances Yin /Yang energy. In Chinese philosophy, scolecite is associated with Yin energy, which promotes self love and inward positivity. Recharges introverts and empaths. Helps alleviate feelings of isolation. Can help with metabolism and feelings of "emptiness" when trying to lead a healthy eating lifestyle.
Cool Fact: When the needles are exposed to heat, they twist and curl up, which is where the name of this stone comes from – “skolecks” means “worm” in Greek.
MESOLITE
True Zeolite, and spike little critter!
Healing: As well as helping in bringing together a groups dynamic, this crystal also helps to build relationships and to use as a team crystal. Also useful for the enhancement of circulation and in the treatment of wounds.
Cousins: (Not exactly Zeolites but "cousins") Not zeolite but associated with Prehnite, apophyllite, Okenite, cavansite, Pectolite
OKENITE
Fluffy Crystal.
Healing: Used fr nursing mothers, keep in the nursery to help with milk flow. Used to calm and create a peacful enviroment so excellent for new parents. Reduces fevers. Crown Chakra crytsal. Used for medittaion and connecting to astral plane. Aids psychic mediumship.
Cool facts: Okenite is an unusual mineral. It frequently forms "cottonball" clusters where the crystals are so thin they look like tiny fibers. The clusters are composed of straight, radiating, thread thin, crystals. These clusters can make for very attractive specimens and often accompany many fine and rare minerals such as apophyllite, gyrolite and many of the zeolites.
Some volcanic bubbles (called vesicles) can be lined with delicate tufts of okenite and these are sometimes called "Okenite Geodes". They form a mesmerizing crystal wonderland-like landscape. One note of caution: the clusters seem to bring out an urge in people to touch the fine fibers and to "test" the minerals softness. Discourage and refrain from this as the crystals are very delicate and once touched, are never the same again.
APOPHYLLITE REIKI STONE
Like the zeolites, it has a high water content, although apophyllite has no aluminum in its chemical composition. Healing: A Stone of Reiki. One of the Zeolite "cousins". Use this stone to amplify your reiki and protect you when you are healing others. Ethereal crystal which resonates powerfully..This stone helps one see into the future. It helps facilitate astral travel and intuition. Helps make decisions of the heart. Stimulates joy. Clears and refreshes eyes.
Cool Fact: Named after the Greek word meaning “leaf”. This name was chosen because of its unique tendency to crumble when heated
PREHNITE
ZEOLITE COUSIN
Healing: A stone of unconditional love and the crystal to heal the healer. It enhances precognition and inner knowing. Calms the environment and brings peace and protection. It teaches how to be in harmony with nature and the elemental forces. A stone for dreams, memories & meditation. Aids being prepared. Helps kidney & bladder disorders.
Cool fact: Prehnite is one of the first minerals to be named after a historical person. Also, prehnite was the first mineral to be named and described from South Africa, long before the country became an important source for precious gems, including diamond.
Though not a zeolite, it is found where lot of other zeolite grow. If prehnite is heated, it can emit water
CAVANSITE INTUITION Composition: Ca(VO)Si4O10·4(H2O)

Cool Fact: Extremely rare and only found in the Dominicon Republic.
