Holistic Healing:
Traditionally associated with self-belief, inner love and creative confidence. In crystal lore it is also linked to the head and the nerves, to comfort in difficult times, and to a sense of belonging.

Metaphysical Traditions:
Regarded in tradition as a stone of spiritual love and living your true purpose.

Cool Facts:
Sugilite was first found in Japan in 1944 by Ken-ichi Sugi and named in 1976, but the purple gem material was only found in 1979 in the Wessels manganese mine in South Africa.
Its purple comes from manganese.
Gem-grade sugilite is one of the rarer collector stones, and the South African mine is now largely worked out.
