About Dalmatian  –

Dalmatian Stone is a creamy-white rock peppered with black spots, just like the dog it is named after. Though often sold as 'Dalmatian Jasper', it is really an igneous rock made mostly of quartz and feldspar, with the dark spots usually being an iron-rich amphibole such as arfvedsonite.

It formed as an igneous rock in northern Mexico, with the dark mineral crystallising in clusters as the melt cooled.

Cool Facts  –

Dalmatian stone is not a true jasper but an igneous rock of feldspar and quartz with black spots of arfvedsonite.

It comes from Chihuahua, Mexico.

The spots are often mistaken for tourmaline, but are actually a black amphibole.

It has nothing to do with Dalmatia on the Croatian coast directly – it is named after the spotty dog breed, which itself took its name from that region.
