About Eudialyte  –

Eudialyte is a complex zirconium silicate with a raspberry-red to pink colour, usually sold set in its host rock alongside black aegirine and grey-white feldspar. Tumbled pieces are really eudialyte-rich syenite, which gives them their bold red, black and white look.

It forms in rare alkaline igneous intrusions such as nepheline syenites, notably on Russia's Kola Peninsula and in southern Greenland.

Cool Facts  –

Eudialyte is a rare zirconium mineral whose name means "easily dissolved" – it breaks down in acid.

The best-known material comes from the Kola Peninsula in Russia and from Greenland.

Its raspberry red comes from manganese and iron.

Its name is Greek for 'easily dissolved', because it breaks down readily in acid – a property that has made it a studied source of zirconium and rare earths.
