About Mahogany Obsidian  –

Mahogany Obsidian is natural volcanic glass swirled with reddish-brown bands and patches, the colour of polished mahogany. The warm tones come from iron oxide such as hematite dispersed through the black glass.

It forms when silica-rich lava cools so quickly that crystals cannot grow, trapping iron-rich streaks within the glass.
