About Sheen Obsidian  –

Sheen Obsidian is black volcanic glass that shows a golden or silvery shimmer when turned in the light. When polished it can look almost like a mirror.

It forms when silica-rich lava cools too fast for crystals to grow, trapping tiny lined-up gas bubbles that create the sheen.

Cool Facts  –

Obsidian of all kinds has been historically used in times of mourning. An Apache legend tells of crying Obsidian tears at the loss of tribal members. The crystal is particularly important to Apache culture in relation to grief, and its grounding and protective qualities are said to soothe those in mourning.

Freshly broken obsidian edges can be only a few nanometres thick, sharper than a steel razor.
