About Pyrite –

Pyrite is iron sulphide with a brassy metallic lustre, famous for forming near-perfect cubes that look as if they were machined. Its gold-like glint fooled many a prospector, earning it the nickname Fool's Gold.

It forms in a wide range of settings, from hydrothermal veins to sedimentary rocks such as shale and coal, wherever iron and sulphur meet in low-oxygen conditions.
