About Turquoise  –

Turquoise is an opaque blue-green copper phosphate, often laced with brown or black matrix known as spiderweb. It has been treasured for over 5,000 years, from Egyptian jewellery to Persian domes and Native American silverwork. Its colour ranges from robin's-egg blue to apple green depending on iron and copper content.

It forms near the surface in dry regions where water percolates through copper-bearing rocks, depositing turquoise in veins and nodules.
