Children often love crystals. Kids are intuitive, and their senses have not been blocked by the social restrictions that we have learned as adults. Let them handle and play with smooth tumble polished crystals. Have larger display pieces around in their bedrooms and play areas (out of reach for very young children). These can be both beneficial and beautiful. Invent activities such as creating pictures or sculpts with crystals and give them a large variety of crystals to choose from. Allow them to wear crystals as jewellery and carry them in their pockets and school bags. Crystals often have a very quick effect on children.

Tumbled stones are great for children because they are less likely to break. They also are fun to hold and play with.

A quick safety note: small stones are a choking hazard, so keep them away from children under 3 and always supervise little ones with crystals. Some stones, like malachite, chrysocolla and dioptase, contain copper — keep these out of reach and never put them in water or mouths.

Amethyst

Amethyst is a calming crystal, traditionally associated with peaceful bedtimes. Place a crystal by the bed, out of reach of little ones, and make up a ‘Magic Spray’ for younger children. Simply fill a bottle with water and a few drops of Lavender essential oil and add an Amethyst crystal in too. Spray this around the room just as they are going to bed.

Moonstone

Moonstone is traditionally associated with calm and emotional balance. Your child can simply hold the crystal or rub it on their forehead - you will find that they will instinctively use the crystal where they need it.

Rose Quartz

Rose Quartz definitely a stone every child should have. It has such a gentle loving energy that it helps children overcome hurt and soothe their emotions. It is also gentle enough for children to wear for longer periods of time in bracelets, as a pendant or to carry in their pockets.

Tigers Eye

Tiger’s Eye a great grounding stone that brings daydreamers back to reality and into the present moment!

It is also a great stone for helping children with their self-esteem and can promote courage too. Can be carried in their pocket, but I would recommend that they don't carry it all the time - daydreaming is important too!

Green Aventurine

Green Aventurine is known as the ‘Good Luck’ stone so would be perfect for children sitting tests or needing some encouragement. It is also a stone of leadership and therefore excellent for shy children and helps all children to show their leadership qualities.

Clear Quartz

Clear Quartz is known as the 'master crystal' and really is a must for anyone's collection. It is traditionally seen as an all-purpose stone, so it can be used in many ways. Children seem especially drawn to this crystal and can often spot small rainbows within its structure.

Howlite

Howlite is traditionally associated with calm and patience. This is lovely for children who have big feelings, or if they have been bullied or spent time with aggressive people. It is also said to help settle a busy mind at bedtime.

Obsidian

Shields against negativity. Excellent stone for children because it is very protective, stabilising internal & external energies. Brings purity & balance.

We have a collection of these specifically for children and a child friendly guide.
