Tree Agate is white chalcedony laced with green, branching patterns that look like foliage. Despite its name it does not have the banding of true agate. It is a hard-wearing, affordable stone popular for tumbles, bracelets and palm stones.

It forms as silica-rich solutions harden into chalcedony, trapping fine green minerals that spread in fern-like dendrites.
