Cool Facts:
Natural zincite is rare, found mainly at Franklin, New Jersey; most bright crystals on the market formed accidentally in the chimneys of Polish zinc smelters.
It is zinc oxide, the same compound as calamine lotion and sunscreen.
The Polish crystals grew from vapour, which is why they are so clean and sharp.
