Cool Facts: This is an incredibly rare crystal from the Pectolite family - which forms across the world in white colours. The blue in Larimar forms due to the presence of copper, and only occurs in volcanic Basalt. 
 
It is only found in the Dominican Republic. Due to its rarity, many other stones are confused for or sold as Larimar - such as Caribbean Calcite or Blue Chalcedony. Its serene blue-green colour comes from trace copper — the palest pieces are nearly white, the richest blues most prized.
