About Morganite –

Morganite is the soft pink to peach variety of beryl, the same mineral family as emerald and aquamarine. Its colour comes from small amounts of manganese.

It forms in granite pegmatites, pockets of slow-cooling magma rich in rare elements such as beryllium.

Morganite is the pink variety of beryl, coloured by manganese.

It was named in 1910 after the banker and gem collector J.P. Morgan.

Most morganite comes from Brazil and Madagascar; it is often gently heated to remove yellow tints.

It was named in 1911 by gemmologist George Kunz after the banker J.P. Morgan, a keen gem collector.
