About Halite –

Halite is natural rock salt, forming cubic crystals that can be clear, white, pink, orange or, rarely, blue. It is the same mineral as table salt, and you will know it instantly by its taste – though we'd recommend taking our word for it.

Himalayan salt is rock salt from the Khewra mine in Pakistan, laid down when an ancient sea evaporated over 500 million years ago.

Its pink comes from traces of iron oxide.

Khewra is the second largest salt mine in the world and has a mosque carved from salt inside it.

Poland's Wieliczka Salt Mine contains a whole chapel carved from salt, complete with chandeliers made of salt crystals.
