About Rhyolite  –

Rhyolite is a silica-rich volcanic rock, the lava-flow equivalent of granite. Decorative forms such as Rainforest Jasper show orbs, bands and speckles in greens, creams and browns.

It forms when sticky, silica-rich lava erupts and cools quickly at the surface, often trapping spherulites and flow bands.
