About Rhodonite  –

Rhodonite is a manganese silicate in rose pink, usually laced with black veins of manganese oxide. The contrast of pink and black makes polished pieces instantly recognisable.

It forms when manganese-rich sediments are altered by heat and pressure during metamorphism, and in manganese ore deposits.
